Alright I have experience in this area as I am a valet attendant. One of the guys I work with backed a customers car into mine.

The customer does not have to pay a single penny, whoever owns the valet company has insurence for this reason. The only way you would of had to pay is if you would have left their property, cause once you leave their property they are not liable for any damages (Please people, check your cars before you get in).

I don't know how their tickets are, (the one they give you) but ours has a small contract on it, soon as you leave your car, you accept their contract(read it). The way mine works (probley different, where you are) If we damage a vehicle the attendant has to pay up to a certain amount of money, the rest of the bill is paid for by the valet company/insurence.

Now are you having your car towed to a garage or are they? Once you get the est., and contact the valet manger/owner with it, I would as well include the cost of the rental. If you dont mind me asking, how bad was it wrecked? Did you have security take pictures?

Now to the reason why valet attendant speeds, well because 99% of the customers, bitch. We don't like hearing that we are doing our jobs, sometimes we get behind slow cars, people corssing in front of them, etc. If they were there before someone else and that car gets theirs before them, we hear "I was here first, where the hell is my car." Yeah I admit I speed, the spd limit around our road and lot is 15mph, i'll go 20, but as well I am always checking my surroundings. I have been doing this for 4 years and have yet to wreck one time.

The only way I would sue, is if the valet company declined to pay for the damage. I wouldn't bring the attendant into it, because the money it's not that great, but is good enough to just get by, and he's probley trying to get through school.

Edit: wow this is a very old thread I just, seen the date lol all that typing for nothing.
