Good point

When someone makes a great film it's not fair to expect them to recreate it everytime they come out with something new. Take Martin Scorsese for example who's a far better director than Romero, you cant sit down to watch a new Scorsese film expecting to see Taxi Driver everytime because odds are you're going to be disappointed.

a director is like a painter ... the better ones have an identifiable
style and standards they set ...

i pay a lot of attention to who the director so I can identify their other works should they end up being good at what they do ...

I'm not saying don't pay attention to who the director is, I was saying you shouldn't expect to see Night of the Living Dead everytime you see Romero's name.

I like Romero. I think he's a very creative, analytical, frightening artist. However, I think LOTD was horrible. There wasn't any horror to it. The zombies could have been any fearsome creature. You could have replaced them with aliens or bears. What I like in a zombie movie is fear and the fear should be distinctly of zombies.

Think of NOTLD...the claustrophobia, the characters having to deal with the walking dead, and why? Think of each character as an archetype, Ben, the hero-and ultimately the victim of "the good-guys," Barbara- a very tragic hysterical female (bad archetype if you're a feminist, but it was the 60's) etc etc.

That movie had so much more...flavor...to it.

LOTD was a total disapointment.

Huff...I don't get all of this using LOTD and disapointment in the same sentance. (<----'cept that one) But hey, not everyone likes the same things.
AMK, you should just see it for yourself...Just don't get all hyped because it's a Romero flick, and don't go in expecting crap, and you should have fun with it. It's not a real serious horror...to me, it's funny, gorey, and a little sad....kinda makes you think.

I'm pretty convinced now that you're just being silly.
