Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

A bleak, depressing tale of alcoholism and tragic love story between two lost souls. Cage gives a powerhouse of a performance in the role that won him an Oscar - an award that he certainly deserved for his heart wrenching portrayal of a man at his absolute worst.

Unflinching and filled with talent, I'd highly recommend this one. It's not for everyone, but it still should be seen.

Journey to the Centre of the Earth (2008)

I was a bit tipsy and thought this would be a good idea, it was a bit of fun, but nothing memorable. Maybe if I was 8 I would dig it. I didn't get the 3D version either which sucks.

3/10

The Cry ~ what a bore. Picked up near the end, but not nearly enough to make it worth the watch. And I think they actually could have done a lot with the La Llorona legend.

The Dark Half ~ I still enjoy this movie a lot (my husband had never seen it, so I had to change that) and its not just because of Timothy Hutton (for some reason, he is still one of my favorite actors...lol)

Duplicity (2009)

Surprised to see some reviews about complaining the plot was bit complicated & complex while I found it fairly easy to follow. Though it may not be a great film but a fairly done fun romantic espionage film by Tony Gilroy (Michale Clayton), with as usually fine performances by Roberts and Owen. Nevertheless, Giamatti and Wilkinson also shines nicely as great supporting cast but it'd be bit better if they could share & have more screen presence.

War in Space looks great. Haven't seen Boxing Helena since it first came out does it hold up well?

Grimm Love

Quite bland and it felt like they just skimmed the surface of the story. Didn't know much about the case going into it so it was an interesting enough introduction.

Wrestlemaniac

Nice lowbrow way to finish off the nights viewing.

Public Enemies

Didn't meet expectations, but it was done well enough and worth the watch. And he didn't have much to do, but Crudup was great.

Yes it does, actually. I had forgotten how shocked I was at the plot on my first viewing. It still hasnt lost that sucker punch, after close to umm...11 years now since the time I watched it.
The ending feels a bit atrocious but overall the premise and the moody atmosphere make this a novel watch.
Not easy for everyone to see this.
