Watchmen
all kinds of awsome. it depressed me in print - but fascinated me on film. i think the drab artwork and plodding pace got to me in the book. seeing the characters come to life on screen was a completely different story. i couldnt believe how - in several instances - the actors looked exactly like they did in the comics ... not to mention they even sounded exactly like you would have imagined. loved this movie. |

The Experiment
A good thriller, a family abducted wake up with no memory and are the siubjects of an unseen force manipulating them for its own ends. Couple of nice little twists and well worth checking out.

Friday the 13th (2009)
So I got to see iot finaly. I liked it, I thought they made a reasonable story out of it, but the very start with Mrs Vorhease seemed a bit pointless. It would have been better with out that. And it did seem a bit ruched towards the end. It's one of the better Friday the 13th movies from the second half of the series. I want another new one now. 7/10

I really enjoyed it, but it still works infinitely on the page. The film seemed seemed torn between the plot and the characters: neither element had nearly enough room to grow. My main gripe was Veidt/Ozymandias (Spoilers): The great debate of the novel's ending was whether or not Veidt was good or evil. This portrayal paints him WAY too flat: he's a bad guy with good intentions. Period. I blame this equally on the script and the actor, who never really made him seem charming (or human) in any way. Still...I did really enjoy the majority of it. Great story, perfect cast, and the overall look was dead-on.

Right down to the final soft scene being an extremely campy soft tender one. Not to pick on your opinion or anything dude... I just REALLY hate that movie. |
