Mimic (1997)

A good sci-fi/horror hybrid that really plays up the whole giant-insects-living-under-your-city-streets thing well. Add this to your Halloween playlist. Now on to the sequels...

Personally, I love all the Ginger Snap movies. I thought it was a very dark look and feel to the werewolf genre.

You know, I saw Mimic at the theatre with a buddy and fan of Del Toro, and we had to laugh at a lot of scenes (where it wasn't supposed to be funny). And I swear, we saw a boom mic hanging down into one of the shots in the tunnel. I we were disappointed with Mimic, I mean it was OK, but I thought there were a lot of painful flaws.

Just took a peak at rottentomatoes, I see it we weren't the only ones, it has a 36% rotten audience rating - 45,000 ratings.

"The Hunted" (2003) 8/10

Could easily have been called First Blood 2 (or is it 3?).

The whole movie plays like a mix between First Blood and The Fugitive, with Tommy Lee Jones doing what he does best. Playing Tommy Lee Jones.
Highly entertaining movie with lots of action, and the hand-to-hand combat scenes between Toro and Lee Jones were really well choreographed.

Impressive. The use of background sounds is particularly well done. If only the acting was a tad better.

Tombstone

I can watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it!! I think it's the best roles for Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. I wish they would make more westerns as good as this one!!
