Amazing flick which literally blew me away. Being a late 60s flick, it is rooted in the realistic racism of those times, but Poitier and Steiger make us feel as if we stand there ourselves, facing the fidgety heat which hits us like waves.

Wonderful atmosphere, and a great mystery whodunnit to boot. Highly recommended to everyone who loves atmospheric flicks - Fortunato, NE, Rod, Alky, Return, Urge, Newb, Hellfire, Chrono, etc. All of you need to see this one.

Rating - * * * * ½

Seen it many times. A true classic of the times. The sequel is great too!

:D :D :D ... I know your reply wasn't about my post but as my post is at the top of the page now so it seems for a sec that you were talking about Rest Stop and I believe you have no interest about this horror or its poor sequel either. hehehehe.

Warlords Of The 21st Century

I watched this as a kid a bunch of time under the name Battletruck. A totally underated flick that was just as great as I remembered it. A really straight up vision of the post apocalyptic world compared to a lot of the Mad Max knock offs. This ranks right up there in my favorite films released from NZ.

It really sucks Neil Marshall didn't see the sublties of this and 2019: After The Fall Of New York. Doomsday effectively killed a revival of this genre dumbing it down instead of making it though provoking and relevant.

Had a Kubrick double feature last night.

Full Metal Jacket (1987) - 10/10.

Probably my favorite war film. Vincent D'Onfrio was great in this film.

A Clockwork Orange (1971) - 10/10.

My favorite Kubrick film and definately in my top five films as well.

House of Voices – Endlessly slow and boring French haunted orphanage movie. I fell asleep, woke up, and turned it off.

Quantum of Solace- 8/10

Incredible action, and fantastic mysterious characters. A worthy sequel to an epic new beginning to Bond, and I loved the climax. However, I still felt like something was missing. That might have been the point though.

Sukiyaki western Django
Ive found my new favorite Miike film. fabulous, bizzare, tons of fun, stuffed full of homages, yet somehow remains pretty damn original. great visuals, great action, great entertainment, fans of westerns should dig it. Loved how it ended with a Japanese version of the Django theme song.

Live Free or Die Hard
pleasantly surprised. script was a little weak in certain parts, especially a couple of Justin Long's lines, but the action was completely ridiculous and unrealistic, yet exciting as hell, and Willis still kept his signature hardass attitude despite the PG-13 rating. My favorite Die hard film after the original.
