Showed Will Funny Games and he loved it. Apparently cops love movies that are plausable crimes. Tonight i'm showing him The Strangers. We'll probably end up watching The Warriors, since that's his fave.

La Règle du jeu (The Rules of the Game) (1939)
Incredible. Fluid camera-work dances through an wildly complex tangle of hollowed relationships and cross-relationships. Disguised as a "country house farce", Renoir actually plays with critical themes under the surface regarding the French ruling class. Virtuosic filmmaking for sure.

Wall-E.
Terrific animated entertainer. I really loved the ease and fluidity of the animation Pixar has been doing since Finding Nemo. It allows the characters to show a lot more depth and emotion in their animated histrionics too. Wonderfully warm story, best to be seen on a widescreen TV with sorround sound, and holding your family and kids close to you. 3rd best effort from Disney after The Lion King and Finding Nemo, IMO. I highly recommend it to everyone who will be on the lookout for a holiday season movie this Christmas. Rating - * * * *

Tropic Thunder
It was alright I suppose, but not as funny as I'd havee expected. The Jack black character was just stupid. Ben Stiller missing his trademark freakout, and not really throwing too much wit around, while RDJ was actually pretty funny. Wouldn't advise against watching it, but wouldn't buy it myself.

The Orphanage.
Much more effective than The Devil's Backbone, and that says something.

Ong-Bak - It's all about the ass-kicking Muay Thai and stunts in this one. Tony Jaa is amazing. Can't wait for the sequel to come out. 9/10.
Vacancy 2 - The content is very similar to the original film. Very unnecessary prequel to say the least. Still, it kept me sort of interested until the end and had decent atmosphere. 6/10
