I think if you take Ridley Scott's whole body of work, it would be a much closer race. Since this is a horror director tournament, I have to go with Hitchcock.

After surviving a 7-6 dogfight with veteran and favorite Tobe Hooper in round 1, this young up and comer will have his hands full again with yet another legend...

Alexadre Aja - High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes (remake), {FYI- He's also directing Halloween 9, due in 2007.}
