Tod Browning's Freaks.
How come? I get a bunch of VHS and DVD thru the net because I'm living in a smaller town at the moment that doesn't have the selection.

Freaks is a fantastic film. See it on the big screen if you get a chance, I saw a newly restored print awhiles back at a festival that was amazing. Defintatley one of my favorites of the classic era.

Two reasons: Im really impatient, and I dont have a credit card/Paypal account of my own. The last one is the main reason, I need to borrow money from my parents for everything I want to buy. I'd much rather just go to Futureshop or CD Plus and buy a DVD myself, that way I'm not in debt, plus I can watch the movie as soon as I buy it, as opposed to waiting a month for shipping. Another minor thing is Im paranoid about quality...just because a seller claims the item is in good condition, how can I know for sure?

Despite all this, I do end up buying a movie over the internet every couple months...but I try to avoid it if possible.

yeh I hear ya on the impatient thing, sucks parting with your money then waiting months for shit to arrive. I usually make deposits into people's accounts over here no credit card/paypal dramas and a few places and people I deal with use overnight courier so the wait isn't that long.
....and the condition thing is a bit of a worry at times especially when purchasing VHS. I haven't had to bad of a run tho the Men Behind The Sun tape I got the other day ended up being totally fucked but it cost like a dollar so whatever.... I'll put the original cover on my dub.

laser rot occurs when the glue that holds the 2 discs together becomes contaminted resulting in speckling of the picture .. sometimes minor - but in the worst cases it renders the disc unwatchable.

all discs - including DVDs are really 2 discs glued together.
i hear some DVDs suffer from this as well..

i dont mind buying them within canada but i wont buy them from the USA anymore.
3-4 out of every 10 go missing.

when i was buying laserdiscs - not one would get ripped off (because no one has a player and they are too big to steal ..
but DVDs and CDs are easy to rip off so it happens all the time.

i just saw that someone sold on ebay - the rarest laserdisc of all times ..

a Discovision of Jaque Cousto - some whale special.

only one thought to be in existance ... another one was unearthed and sold for $1200.00

(a few years ago it would have gone for a lot more than that)

i saw another one sell (one that i have) for a little over $50

1st gen mostly, a problem that was fixed quickly supposedly but only time will tell.

I've had only one problem buying movies over the net (I pretty much only use Deepdiscountdvd now) and that was the fact the a disc came out and got some minor scratches during shipping. Was quickly sent another copy, not too bad. Planning on buying another small lot tonight...

THE LOST BOYS (SE)(WS)
ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (2DISC)
SEVEN (PLATNIUM SERIES)
THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (Special Edition)
TRUE ROMANCE (2DISC/SE)
ENTER THE DRAGON (SE)(WS)(2D)
SCRUBS-3RD SEASON
LE DERNIER COMBAT
SPIDER

All but 3 are $10.38, two are $5.98, and Scrubs is like $27.00.
