My humble advice would be to wait for an American release. Sooner or later some company like Blue Underground or Media Blasters or maybe even Anchor Bay will release it with extras. I'm sure they're bickering for American video rights as we speak (er, type). I mean EVERY Italian cannibal movie is slowly being released on DVD...even Massacre in Dinosaur Valley is coming out in a few months, and Holocaust is considered the ultimate in this type of sleaze.. So just pick up a cheap bootleg to hold you over...you can find them almost anywhere now, and it'll save you from a two-buy. I would suggest DCS Video Screams--they have nice prices and fair quality tapes.

I've got a program called DVD Idle Pro 2 that lets me watch region coded DVDs. But there's a bunch of non region coded DVDs for Cannibal Holocaust out there. I've got one from EC Entertainment that palys on any player.

I got in on VHS today, along with May, Dagon, Evil Ed, Creepshow 2, Ravenous, THe burning and Carnival of the Souls, all for the grand total of £16 sterling (about $25 i think). Not bad, eh. I know its not any relation to the DVD question, im just gloating.
Ive been taking adavntage of video shops changing over to DVDs and selling all their old stock to get a few good VHS' now. Hooray! ( i hope this isnt too up beat for a horror forum).

With alll the vid' sales and DVD reissues recently ive been collecting plenty of new obscure (probably not so obsure to American members) horrors and have bumped my collection up long time! Hooray again.

Cannabal holocaust has been out on DVD here (the UK) for freaking ages, by the way.

By the way (again) im new here, apart from reading the horror archive (those Guinea Pig films sound really harsh, i must see them) and news, so Hi to all you guys who post here!

Well I've been wanting to see the movie for months now after I've heard about it but like most people can't find it anywhere. On dvdaficionado.com however there is Cannibal Holocaust Restored Uncut Edition release dvd, but it's in the "not announced" category from Grindhouse (not sure if that is an american dvd company). My hopes are high though because the last time I saw a dvd listed but in the category of "not announced" it was Freaks and now that's being released the 20th.
