I didn't really like The Uninvited. It had a lot of those stupid CGI children and bad jump scares. I liked the sideplot about the crazy girlfriend, but I wish that was the main plot rather than the little ghost kids.

Eventually. I'm really trying to get myself to watch a 3 hour silent movie from 1912...can't remember the name, not at home now. And also Lawrence of Arabia. But I shall add it to my list. : )

good remakes:

the fly 86
evil dead II 87
war of the worlds 2005
Only part I liked of Pulp Fiction was Mr. Pink.

Anyway, yeah Cronenberg's Fly was phenomenal. But, well it is Cronenberg. Sort of always that way.
Evil Dead II was definitely great.

War of the Worlds remake was good? Dude, like, omg. We're definitely not getting married.

Little Shop of Horrors was good, so was Cape Fear... Its just so hard to live up to the originals though.

I think the CGI children were there to make it more of a "horror" movie, because without them it would have been more of a thriller I think. I loved the twist at the end, The Uninvited and The Mist are the only movie endings that proper shocked me and kept me thinking about it for a while after.

They are remaking Martyrs. Starring Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars). I love the French original, probably one of the most disturbing films I've seen, so i'm fully expecting the American remake to be a big let down.

It didn't surprise me since I saw the original first.

Oh I saw the original after, maybe that's why I preferred the remake

lol, mr pink/buddy holly was the only thing you liked about pulp fiction? how could you not like pulp fiction?

you didnt enjoy War of the Worlds (2005)? i did. thought the effects and sound were cool. thought a couple things were compelling, like the father/son tension, & the cruise/Tim Robbins battle. it was directed by speilberg. it wasnt great, of course, but i thought it was enjoyable, which is enough for me to give it a 'good' nod.
