I wish I was 18. Just so I had some sort of voice against Pres. Bush. The economy is shit because of him, and It really needs to stop here. I am a big fan of Kerry, but really anyone would be better.

Here's a bit of food for thought... John Kerry is an idiot. Do you know how John Kerry plans to fix the economy? By taxing you (and me) more. In fact, his plan calls for something like 900 million in tax raises within a couple months of him taking office. Taxing the shit out of the middle class and upper class is not my idea of fixing a slumping economy. The middle calss are the ones who are in the tightest position right now and he's going to raise our taxes? Fuck that. George Bush is an idiot too. Good ol' Bush led us to war on completely falsified information. Now we have hundreds and hundreds of soldiers dying in Iraq. (As well as thousands of Iraqi people, some innocent, some not so innocent.) Either way, people dying over a hidden agenda is wrong. There is currently a bill (that is supported by Bush) in both the House and Senate that states that all U.S. men and women between the ages of 18-26 will need to sign up for the military draft. If it passes, this bill would go into effect in June of 2005. (Conveniently after the elections.) Due to an agreement with Canada, boarder jumping in order to draft dodge won't be an option. Neither will going away to college. (The rules have been changed some since the last time there was draft.) What I am wondering is... Why isn't this news? Why aren't we hearing about this potential draft from our television and radio stations? (Considering the liberal slant of most of the media, I'm really wondering why no ones talking about this.) Hey Bush. I don't want to have to go die in some God-forsaken desert because you and Cheney are interested in padding your pockets from the Iraqi oil industry. (Don't even get me started on the whole Halliburton ordeal that was so quickly swept under the rug.) Maybe if someone could provide a good true reason for us being in Iraq then I'd be interested, but until then good luck getting me into your army. (Even though Canada and college are no longer 'outs', I do believe the military still frowns on drug use. Awwww, shucks. If I can't bring my pipe, I aint going anywhere. :p ) In my opinion, I believe the reasons we are in Iraq right now are a combination of oil interest and revenge. (GW's dad couldn't get the job done, so Bush Jr. took care of it for him, wanting nothing more than his father's affection.) What's that you say? We got rid of Saddam? Well, that's great, but why him? Sure he was a cruel and vicious tyrant, but in all fairness, he IS NOT the worst man on the planet. There's Kim Jyong-Il in North Korea, Fidel Castro in Cuba, Moammar Gadhafi in Libya, Alexander Lukashenko in Belarus (Europes last dictator.) even our good buddy, Saudi Arabia has some pretty nasty leadership. Sure, getting rid of Saddam was a good thing for the world. We're better off as a whole without him in power. But WHY DID WE DECIDE TO GO AFTER HIM? Terrorism? Nope, no ties between him and al-Qaida. Hmmm... He had WMD? Nope, they were never there to begin with. Well, he was a really nasty guy? Yeah, that's true. He was a nasty guy, but so are a lot of other world leaders and we aren't going after them. Makes me wonder what our real reason was.... So, what are our options? We can either go with idiot number 1, or we can go with idiot number 2. (There's a third idiot, but he doesn't have any real shot of winning.) Do I want some jackass to take even more of my money than Uncle Sam is already getting or do I want the other jackass to try to tell me I have to go hang in Iraq with a country of people who would like nothing more than to slit my throat? Hmmmm..... This is going to require some thought. |
