I remember when I was looking up something about the original Straw Dogs and saw that they were working on a remake. I am basically holding the same attitude towards it now that I had when I first heard about it; its going to be a giant mess.
With most remakes and sequels, they tend to miss the depth of the original and so every sequel and remake seems to loses more until its nothing but a shallow film with a little fraction of the original story. The fact that they relocated it to the states show that they really missed the point of it. I'm sure that the people who green-lighted it saw a opportunity to make an overtly violent film. I won't be seeing it, not even entertaining the idea. If anyone does, that's fine, but frankly, I am just been exhausted by the constant remakes of films that never needed to be remade. Granted, some remakes have become the new classics (i.e. Scarface), but for every remake that works, another ten fail horribly.

Yeah, I need to get back here more often. Not even 300 posts yet. Gotta remedy that.
