VHS tapes are bound to become desired collector items someday, pass em' down to your children and they could become heirlooms someday.

I've noticed that trend starting already. I used to have all the tapes to myself on online auction sites over here now there's a lot more competition.

Naw - the bottom has fell out of the market i think. I have a huge VHS collection nd back in the day was getting offered £100 for stuff like Antro/Absurd/Love Camp 7 - no way would i get that now...

Going to try sell em off over the summer though - thye're up in the attic doing no one any good.

Oh yeh I wasn't meaning there getting huge sums of money more people just seem to be collecting them.

Ya, the market for VHS as a collectable hasn't even begun. In 5 or 6 years something will be marketed successfully against the DVD and there will be a spike in VHS price. Then I'd guess it'll take another 5 to 10 before the real high collector prices start coming out. Jesus, old McDonalds toys are still bringing big money.

Sometimes a VHS tape is the only way to see an "open matte" fullscreen version of something that gives you a little more of the frame image...cases in point, Scanners and Horror of Dracula, I kinda like certain shots that you see more of on the tapes, so I keep those around. I still have a bunch of VHS tapes! Ohhh, I love them.
