Interestingly, the film Quantum of Solace has nothing to do with the Fleming story it shares a title with. The story is about Bond at a dinner party with a bunch of people who he despises, and a story of marital infidelity one of the guests tells.
For the film, they just made up a new story and used the title because they wanted to be able to say it was based on a Fleming sory. And BTW- The earlier Casino Royale was not a Woody Allen film- he just happened to play a character in it. It was directed by seven different people and David Niven, who played Bond, was Ian Fleming's first choice to play Bond. It was the only time he got the honor. |

there are about 2 bond films that follow the ian flemming stories. I dont really care to be honest - some of the books werent that great (The Spy Who Loved Me was terrible) i like the direction this is going ... with one story following the other. I think its cool that we'll be able to watch his character build and have an actual story line to follow - with maybe some continuity. |

Who said it was a Woody Allen film? Doesn't he play James Bond's Nephew?
The original Casino Royale was more of a spoof of the books if anything. Interestingly, many people believe it was the first Bond to be released, not including the episode of Climax!. It was actually released in 1967, the same year as You Only Live Twice, which was the fifth film in the EON series. As for the quantum of Solace name, it came from a short story in the novel For Your Eyes Only, which was a book containing five separate stories. And Bond is barely even in the quantum section.

[QUOTE=_____V_____;756821]Craig has been the best Bond on the scene, after Sean Connery. QUOTE]
Ok. This has to be said. Sean Connery sucked at being Bond. He was nothing like the original novel Bond. Craig> Connery

[QUOTE=Posher778;756878]I wouldn't say he sucked but he wasn't as good as everybody likes to think.

Don't be so condescending kiddo, you're not much older than me. It's not like you were alive when his Bond films came out yourself. Who do you think you are? Newb? :)

It's only because he was the first Bond that people seem to like him so much. Plus, he lost all respect from me when I found out about Never Say Never Again.
