So sorry to hear of your loss. Dogs become such a part of our families.

We thought of that too, but I don't know of anything around here he could have eaten to have poisoned him. Unless a person did it, but even that wouldn't be likely. We live in the middle of 40 acres, with horses and another dog, and we have electronic gates and barbed wire fencing around us. Not to mention, we pretty much know all the locals.

Sounds like his liver failed on him...

Sorry, bud. I have lost 3 dogs before Rolls and I know how it is.

Rolls is 10 years old now...so I was sorta taken aback by the title of this thread too.

Ugh, the situation is fucked...makes my stomach turn just to think about it.
My dog died around 2-3 years ago now, and I'm still weird about getting another one...had him for around as long as you'd had yours too, makes the experience that much more painful, they're not pets, they're family members.
I'll be getting a memorial inked when I've got the money.
Don't know if there's any advice here...sleep when you feel like you cant do anything but think about it? Probably a lot, but it gets you out of the day.
Nothing really more I can say.

I've never had a dog but I have had quite a few animals with untimely deaths. A guinea pig who got Cancer, A cat which got Diabetes and in the end had to be put down, a mouse who had a heart attack and another who kept scratching it's face to the points that it had no ear and it's face was just scabs. We had him put down. Sorry to hear about your loss. Look it up on the internet or speak to your local vet about it.

I know. And he's a fairly large dog. We've owned him all 14 years of his life too. :(
