Well i guess i should feel lucky about the area i live in. One of the best buys in the area, the one i go to, has half an isle of horror. I used to like circuit city better but over the past few months they have gone from a great place to buy to barely above wal mart standards. I prefer FYI over either of them simply because they have pretty much whatever you are looking for but you definitely pay the price (40 damn dollars for H).

Stop complaining - I don't have a Best Buy around here, and the alternative (Future Shop) doesnt have have a horror section. They're just randomly mixed in with the other genres (mostly in action).

The one closest to me use to have a huge section as well, and when they remolded and expanded the video game section the horror section got cut in half:(

Same thing here! I just noticed it yesterday! The wife jokingly said she suggested it.
I'm plotting my revenge.

The Circuit City still has a huge selection, Target's is ok, Meijer's is almost non-existent, Borders has some... actually there are a lot more places close to buy movies and horror movies so I shouldn't complain.

It's funny, but increasingly, whatever movie it is, I generally will find it cheap on Ebay and wait a week or two for it to get here. If I can be patient, it costs a lot less than any of those stores.

Then again, there was that mad night when I had to see the new "Day of the Dead" 2-disc set, and ran out to the store and paid whatever they wanted for it--I think I paid 30 bucks or more for that. It was pretty cool though.

But EBay can leave you burned and while you usually get a refund it takes time.

There are only 2 shops near where I live that actually have a horror section... and they have less horror on their shelves than I have on mine

So I just buy online.

I have had a few problems with orders on Ebay, but all told, not many. I avoid the sellers with lots of negative feedback, and overall, my experiences have been good. It's definitely better to keep your eyes open when buying there...each seller is an individual person.

maybe the problem is that the film makers, holly wood what ever you want to call them make such piles of shit and put it on DVD format that people don't buy the DVDs and they just sit on the shelves taking up space
