Ferret, I realize that you're trying to add some comic relief to the situation, however... Never never never suggest to Hammerfan that she should harm an animal. It's not good for your health. As a matter of fact, it may compromise the probability of you reaching your next birthday.

Sue 'em, Hammerfan. Many lawyers will offer you a free consultation. What you should do, though, is check with your co-workers and friends for recomendations. That way, you can get a lawyer who won't charge exorbent fees for their services, but who will make sure that you win your case. You may even want to push for Delaware Park having to pay your attorney fees and your court costs as well.

You need to speak with the management of the Casino and express to them that you've been horribly inconvenoinced and they need to make it right. They will absolutely cover all damages to your car, but the Casino needs to make you happy.

Tell them you need comped rooms for future stays along with free room service etc, casinos are set up to give stuff away to good gamblers (meaning ones who lose a lot of money) and there is absolutely room for you to have all the perks of a "whale".

Only if they refuse this would I tell them they'll be hearing from your lawyer.

And do NOT sign anything they give you until a lawyer has looked at it.

Hopefully they will settle and everyone will be happy. A legal suit is risky, because they other side can afford better lawyers. And there's just such negative karma that come from sueing someone.

I went back to Delaware Park this afternoon because I realized last night that I left my EZPass in the glove compartment. When I got there I asked for the manager. When the manager came, I told him about what happened and he didn't know anything about it. Unbelievable. I think I'm going to get a lawyer just to protect myself, make sure they don't take advantage of me.

Roderick Usher: It's not that kind of casino. It's just slot machines and a race track. To get that kind of casino around here you have to go to Atlantic City.

In my opinion, we live in a world where people are all too eager to sue each other.

Now in your case, you have a very legit claim to having the casino pay for your car repairs and it'd be nice of them to throw in a handful of comped buffets or hotel rooms or something to to let you know they're sorry for the inconvenience they know they are causing you, but you were not injured and I doubt it's gonna cause you any type of lifelong stress or anything so the damage is not permanent. I'd say as long as they fix the car for ya, there's no sense in suing. If they try to stick you with the bill, then hell yes, by all means sue them but in general, I think it's usually in most people's best interests to stay out of court whenever possible. Who wants to waste cash on legal fees and time on lawyers and court rooms if it's not a real major issue?

I'm obviously not a lawyer, so take that legal advice with a grain of salt, but for what you could potentially get out of it, I don't think it'd be worth your time or hassle.
