Ultra Violent is my favorite at the moment.

I always pick up old copies of FM, Fatal Visions, Dark Side and Fangoria when I see them. Haven't picked up any Rue Morgue issues yet. Flicked thru a couple here and there and they seem decent.

rue morgue is too general, i find its not film driven enough. i really love fangoria but it is a bit pricey due to the fact it is full colour. videoscope is my fave since they have a shitload more reviews than anything else and its pretty much just DVDs and since i don't go to see movies in theaters at all it suits my needs more than the other two. it just sucks that videoscope is all bw paper and no color gloss, oh well, i guess thats why i buy all three from time to time.

For the past, Famous Monsters was definitely the trendsetter. It really did a lot to create a community of horror film fanatics. Before that, we had no idea there were other people across the country that felt the same way we did!

A few years later Castle of Frankenstein came along with a little more mature approach.

These days I like Filmfax- it's not strictly about horror, but there are plenty of interesting articles about horror and sci-fi films to keep me interested.
