The Lord of the rings movies are decent, the hobbits are funny.
Spinal Tap is the greatest Commentary ever. Go watch it. The Omen was actually pretty good. Richard Donner is funny as hell. 28 Days Later. The commentary was almost as interesting as the movie. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Excorsist director's cut commentary was fucking painful William Freidkin is about as interesting as crumbled papier mache Roger Ebert's commentary for Dark City also sucked. He said "Film noir" about 10 times in the first 15 minutes. i got tired of him (VERY pretentious) and turned it off, disgusted.

I though Road Kill was the best commentry I have ever listened to. I thought it was sooo good I have put it on again a few times for a good laugh.
It's sooo fucking funny. Two of the actors from the movie are doing it. Sorry, but I can't remember their names off the top of my head. If you have it I recommend listening to it.

I am rather fond of:
The commentary tracks on the Director's Edition of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and "Big Trouble In Little China" .....and "Zombie," as well, just for the heck of it. |

I haven't heard it yet...but I just won an auction on ebay for the full UK version dvd of Shaun of the Dead...a commentary by zombies?!?
That's gotta be kinda funny... As for the other commentaries, to be honest, I have like 65 or so dvds, and I don't think I've ever listened to one...? Seems to me like it'd be similar to having some noisy jackass sitting near you in the cinema. Although for the information kinda thing, it may not be too bad. I think I'd have to just listen to it and not watch the movie though... |

best use for DVD commentaries:
Doing the dishes or other chores. I agree, sitting through the commentary if that is ALL you are doing is not fun.
