On the downside though, Mr. Radice now speaks ill of his exploitation past... and is sometimes clearly uncomfortable and embarrassed talking about some of his best movies.
SISTINAS: the animal killings range from ritual mutilation (where the filmmakers exploit allegedly traditional practices from the "tribes/cannibals") to "natural" conflicts between two spieces (where in fact the unfortunate animals have been shoved together to encourage a fight to the death) -
Cannibal Holocaust also features the abhorrent shooting of a pig by one of the stars of the film, and the shocking destruction of a helpless giant turtle.
However repulsive, these sequences do up the ante of intensity of these films and make the viewer question what other carnage they are watching "might be real"...
