I found it to be amazingly funny and smart as hell. The satire is non-stop and the depth of comedy in every frame is so intense that it takes repeated viewings to catch it all.

Mark me, this will be heralded as a work of genius in 5 years... about as long as it took for Office Space to have an impact.

It is fascinating and it strongly holds my attention for its very long running time without delivering much dramatic conclusion in the end. It had a way of making you feel sorry for certain characters. One of which was to watch how the children of Joseph and Magda Goebbels were killed. Overall, the script was great with beautiful cinematography.

I forget why I ended up watching it when it came out but after I did I told everyone I knew to see it. I've seen it about 5 times now I think...

When I first saw it I was expecting a balls to the wall action flick. Needless to say it didn't turn out to be what I expected but I think that was a good thing.
