I don't know how Zwoti felt about it, but i found it impressive as hell. The work of a filmmaker at the top of his game. I never read the book, but the movie is very strong. It was my second favorite of last year (right behind Pan's Labyrinth) and I find something new and interesting every time I watch it.

9.5/10

I second that. I think it's fucking brilliant. Maybe even perfect.

The Cameraman (1928)

Still stands hands down as one of the greatest comedies of all time. Sheer magnificent physical comedy ala mister Buster Keaton, and terrifically shot. This would be a necessity on the "100 Greatest Movies of All Time as Compiled by Alky" list. Vital, absorbing, perfect filmmaking.

Evan Almighty. 05/10

Less than decent sequel to Bruce Almighty. Steve Carrell tries his best to outdo Jim Carrey of the original but sucks. Morgan Freeman returns and is bland as ever. The direction seemed pretty ok for the first 30-odd minutes then it went downhill. Some gags were so corny they werent even in the same league as the word "funny".

Seems like Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth was rolled into half the movie, and most of the comedy and CGI effects revolve around that.

Overall, watch it ONLY if you have NOTHING else to do, otherwise skip it. You wont be missing much. I m surprised how this one became #1 of the weekend box-office, over the much powerful and better entertaining 1408.
