I've just been reading William Hope Hodgson series books called CARNACKI. Your basic Ghost hunter with almost realistic tellings of hantings, both real and fake within the story. These are very old books and the setting is in what seems the mid to late 1800's in England. Very good read.

Finished a Stroke of Midnight. Pretty good, though I still say Hamilton needs a new editor. Too many phrases are repeated too often and there are glaring mistakes on occasion. But still an interesting, imaginative series.
Just started Velocity by Dean Koontz. Premise is good and the first chapter made me laugh a lot for some reason. :p |

Velocity by Dean Koontz
Velocity by Dean Koontz was good, but at the same time felt like it was rambling on looking for the ending. Mind you, the whole book was a mind flip and the ending I still wonder about. Not a bad read just a weird one if you can hang on.

I don't know what my problem is, but I just can't seem to get into Gaiman's novels. Practically everyone I know loves his work, but his long form stuff just falls flat with me. His short stories (and the Sandman, of course) are a different story, however.
Back on topic: I just finished reading the Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 15, edited by Stephen Jones. Some very strong entries in this year's collection.
