Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This was my second viewing...loved it the first time, and was even better now. Less time spent trying to figure out what was going on, and more time to immerse yourself. Easily one of the best overall films in years, and probably Carrey's best performance yet. The girlfriend was a tad confused, but she liked it :) That was this afternoon...tonight I had a little "gettogther" (I hesitate to say "party") with a bunch of friends, and had some movies going in the background for awhile: Airplane! Masters of Horror: Cigarette Burns Ive seen both multiple times...great movies for totally different reasons. Didnt really sit down and watch either of 'em this time, but I caught the majority.

Frankenfish. 06/10
Nice sleazy fun. Excellent combination with the popcorn, notwithstanding the numerous holes in the script and direction. Recommended for entertainment only. The Bridges of Madison County. 09/10 Quite easily the best movie I ve seen in awhile. Eastwood is completely believable and perfect in his character, and Streep does an equally excellent job. Great atmosphere, touching ending. A good adaptation of the equally well-famous book. One of the most underrated movies ever IMO. Highly recommended from me.

John Carpenter's The Thing
Well, I wasn't real crazy about this movie the first time I wacthed it, but since it is so highly regarded, I thought I'd better give it another go since I may just not have been in the right frame of mind or something. Anyways, I did enjoy it slightly more than the first time I watched it, but I still would have to call it highly over-rated if it's anyone's top 10 list, let alone the top 10 of our cumulative top 100 list. The story's pretty good, the acting is fine, the gore is decent, but the movie just seems to move along pretty slowly and I often would find myself thinking about something else entirely. The ending was alright though. All in all, this movie took a step up in my book upon second viewing, but I still think it gets over-rated quite severely. B-
