Again, a call for Newb's team members. :D
Roshiq, Wicker, care to answer NE's two queries so far?

I did not vote for Halloween 2 or Zombies Of Mass Destruction.

The thing is when the voting started I think some/most of the voters didn't get much of options to "chose the best/better film" as most likely many of us here haven't seen most of those modern films that we nominated and we tried our best to give every little good film a fair chance. So it's my guess that some voted those few films (whether good, bad or crap) that they got chance/managed to see.
Now as far Rob Zombie's Halloween 1, 2 or both goes, I think it's overall got a mixed feelings from the viewers/fans. Original Halloween is so iconic that some fan just can't able to hate anything that got something to do with Michael Myers whether that's a bad or mediocre sequel or a remake coming after so many years. Personally I even didn't hated that much Zombie's Halloween & the sequel. As Rob Zombie films, both were fairly watchable & enjoyable, IMO. Although it was daring but I liked the idea (whatever good or bad) Mr. Zombie tried to put & play with Michael Myers legacy as a director in his own terms or point of views. But personally I didn't want Halloween 2 to make in the final/top list but I knew it'd do eventually as it was getting favorable votes from the voters here. Whether big or low budget or indie effort, now a days there are plenty of new horror films are coming out every year but good or quality films doesn't come so frequently or fans somehow missed them to watch for their limited or late wide scale release. But fans always want or eager to see or waiting for good films and then when they got something bit unusual or a mediocre one in the middle of plenty of bad releases or after a long absent period of desired quality horror film then I think sometimes some of us overwhelmingly 'welcome' or tag them as a good one. ZMD is a mediocre zombedy, IMO. Thanks for the recs, Wikcy:) I think I got the Open Water & Ninth Gate in some of my 6 in 1 DVD collections...hope to see them both soon. And as far Loch Ness film goes, I think I need to download it from a torrent site soon or later.

Oh come on, man who will dare to even think of that? V & I will try our best to give you some 'support';) Mainly, it'll be fun and I'm really want to know about them too...what are those films that NE thinks just as 'pieces of crap'?!?

I have to admit, I'm also curious.

Me too, but I can't say I blame him for being reluctant. A lot of people take it personally when you rip a film they like to shreds.

Unfortunately, very true. I never understood why people demand that everyone agree with them about their likes and dislikes. IMO, if everyone liked the same things - or disliked the same things - the world would be an extremely boring place to live.

Pieces of crap was probably too strong of a term, so I'll just say IMO none of the following films deserve to be on any list that begins with the word "best" or "top."
2001 Maniacs (2005) Bug (2006) Freddy vs. Jason (2003) Friday the 13th (2009) Halloween (2007) Halloween II (2009) Jason X (2001) Jeepers Creepers (2001) Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003) Saw II (2005) Saw III (2006) The Midnight Meat Train (2008) The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (2003) Thir13en Ghosts (2001) Alien vs. Predator (2004) Cube 2 : Hypercube (2002) Zombies of Mass Destruction (2009) And as an addition, if Cabin Fever is on the list, I think Cabin Fever 2 should be as well- it's better than the first film. |

I'm sure I put some of those on my list, but I can't come up with a good argument in their defense.:o
I voted for films I watched and didn't hate, but some of them are kind of cheesy.

Now see- there's a problem with the methodology. If the purpose of the list is to introduce people to the best horror films of this millennium, to counteract all the cries of "modern horror films suck," then there has to be a stronger criterion than "I didn't hate it." Otherwise, people are going to watch the films, and say, "meh- those were boring" or sucked or whatever. And then they dismiss the list out of hand and their original opinion remains unchanged.
