8mm. I have never seen it on anythign other than tv, which would be like only ever seeing Se7en on tv, where half the good stuff was cut out. the worst part was they cut out throat slashing, beatings, etc., and this was on FX. FX! the channel that brought us the sheild, where shit and dickehead fly around like bugs, and mackey perpetrates someof the worst violence ever filmed, but nicholas cage smashing tony soprano's head with a gun is too graphic...

well, just the nature of the film - its censure fodder anyway - you know they'll be all over it - like a TV safe release of Deep Throat

Yeah.. bree had it pegged right off, the acting and everythitgn is great, but with all that shit going on, not getting to see the payoff is incredibly unsatisfying. Christ, the scene with Machine gettin goffed finally was like a wet fart...

i forgot - i also watche The Pink Panther Strikes Back

this is my personal favorite in the series.

it hasnt stood the test of time very well but i remember laughing until i cried at the 'dentist scene'

so it may not technically be the best one but for the sake of nostalgia - it is for me ..

A lot of the old pink panther movies were just a little to 60's fare for me... Peter sellers was genius, but the rest was usually pretty retarded.

"What are you doing with that minkey?"
"Minkey?"
"Yes, the minkey."
"You mean the monkey?"
"Thats what i said! Minkey!"

yeah, they are pretty dated and comedy (in some cases) has become more clever at mixing slapstick with more sophisticated humor - in a much more effective way ... but i grew up with these pink panther flicks and at the time - they were fresh, origional and funny. thankfully i can still call on the memories of the experience of seeing them back in the day.

part of the humor was that he was far nastier than that
very arrogant all the time being wrong..

it was more like :

"What are you doing with that minkey?"
"Minkey?"
"Yes, the minkey."
"You mean the monkey?"
"Minkey, yes, that is what i said , you idiot!"

Layer Cake.
It was ok, but personally I think that since lock stock, I've liked this guys films less and less. Great cinematography, and a really good musical score...some funny characters, but I think the plot was a little too convoluted at points, with random characters from the past and present being referred to I was left thinking "what? who?" a few times too many I thought.
The overall plot was ok, but to me there was just something not very likeable about the film. It's "ok", but I could live without seeing it again.

The first one had a little more punch to it and there were some sick parts but it was no Ichi as far as that goes. I have the trilogy, pm me if you want to... borrow... the first two.
