I watched a few more movies over the weekend:

McVicar

This was the first time I had seen this little gem of a movie. I loved Quadrophenia so figured I'd give this 'Who' production a go. Roger Daltrey plays McVicar and the movie based on fact is a gritty prison drama, slightly dated in parts but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

8/10

The Case of the Scorpions Tale

This once thought lost Giallo was the next film I happened upon from my crate. I found the acting to be the usual (which is bad and cheesy to say the least) the dialogue was not much better BUT that aside, the death sequences were quite outstanding for the time (particularly the glass stabbing to the eye). The scenery was fantastic too. I would however avoid this if you are not a big fan of the Giallo genre. There are better films around (with less plot holes) but if you are the completist like myself it would surely make a good addition to your collection.

6.5 - 7/10

Underworld

As we had family around I was asked to provide an action type film so figured I'd give this another whirl. I still thoroughly enjoy this flick. I haven't yet seen the directors cut/extended version - could anyone tell me if this is worth forking out for?? Anyway - a thoroughly entertaining popcorn movie

8.5/10

Wild Things

This was another bargain bin purchase so I expected little. What a got was a film with more twists and turns than Christiano Ronaldo and some hot hot scenes coupled with Bill Murray (who I love). Not a film to be taken at all seriously but good in a trashy kind of way.

7/10

P.S. Keep the end credits rolling as the twists only come together RIGHT at the very end...

Starkweather

This cheap indy flick was not a bad effort on all accounts. I was hoping to get a decent s.killer / Natural Born Killers kind of film and to be honest I did. the death scenes are not excessive but the film holds up well. Check out a couple of particular scenes in the movie where you can see a mic hovering around the top of the screen...now that's the kind of budget we are talking!! hehehe. Not a bad effort by any means (see Gemini Killer)

7/10

Sleep Stalker

Another bargain bin purchase - I had to get this one when I saw that it was the Sand man who was the purpertrator...another v. cheap low budget movie, this was the same thing I have seen thousands of times and done better too. Not terrible but not great either. Worth the £1 I paid though

6/10 - I'm feeling generous!!

Final Destination III

The last of my FD season I watched last night. This is the weakest of the series but is still the same old fun popcorny feel to it. Some excellent death sequences in true FD style (particularly the roller-coaster scene, the weights crushing the head and of course not forgetting the sun bed's...). This is a worthy addition to the series and well worth a watch. On a slightly disappointing note, Tony Todd doesn't make an appearance but his voice is used on the rollercoaster ride which was quite cool.

8/10

I watched "the fury" this afternoon, I was still up from the day before and my mind was a mess, It was such a warped piece of cinema though, it freaked me out a bit, i got lost in it` at times

It was entertaining, in an 80's Steve Segall kind of way.

Just watched Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
Pretty damn funny.

Population 436 is a beyond average movie, kind of boring. Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit is one of the main characters and he actually does a pretty good job. It's about a town that has a population of 436 and has had the same population for 100 years or something like that, a census taker tries to find out why the populaiton doesn't change. On one hand it could have been a lot better, but on the other hand it's still better than a good majority of the horror movies coming out on the big screen.
