Do any of you remember these from the late 60's-mid 70's? They had several titles like TALES OF VOODOO, WEIRD and TALES FROM THE TOMB, among others. Had incredibly bloody garish covers and the stories were usually pre-code reprints with new artwork which could really be violent/ gruesome. Some of their material was pretty audacious and twisted as well . Used to buy these frequently with the Warrens (CREEPY, EERIE, VAMPIRELLA) and even back then I knew they were of much lesser quality, but like a big bowl of fudge, I just could not resist! Not sure if mentioned before...(?) |

Had a bunch of these. Great stuff for sure. Bernie Wrightson is an amazing artist.

Love these. The ghetto of horror comics, poorly written, garishly illustrated, but they had a powerful ambiance all their own. Elvis- I don't think Wrightson was ever in these magazines. |
