Stephen King's story that you like to see in movies
While doing the research for my latest challenge in HDC IDOL about the probable next film of Frank Darabont based on a short story of Stephen King, I have found at last the story that I was looking for months ago. I haven't read that much of King's story so far and some months ago one of my good friend told me about a story that he had just read in a local magazine...Rohossho Potrika (The Mystery Magazine) where they didn't mention the original author & the story name! It was an adaptation with only a note at the end that says: "Inspired by a foreign story". Anyways, this sorta things happen here very often so I was wondering about what's the original one & who the author is & whether there is any TV or Film adaptation made already or not. Cause I just liked the plot and finally I came to know that it was King's short story: Survivor Type!
I haven't found any info on the net that whether it's have a film/TV adaptation or not but I like to know that whether you think that its worth or not to have a film (or a sub plot of a film) /TV adaptation and if it goes for a TV or full length feature film then who do you think can make a good one out of it.;) Btw, I haven't seen Cat's Eye (1985) yet; so I didn't know that one of my other favorite Stephen King's story Quitter's Inc. have been made into a part of a movie which I'm looking forward to see in future.:)

Unfortunately a lot of his stories suck on film. I thought his short stories were generally better than the novels. I haven't read much of his newer stuff. By newer I mean post 90's.
I'd like to see The Jaunt and I am the Doorway A better adaptation of It or Tommyknockers would also be nice.

I'd love to see a version of It that was as weird, scary and spiritual as the book.

I'd like to see a cute little terrier mix drive a corkscrew through his chest.
Sorry, I used to love him, but it's all over now (sung to the tune of "It's All Over Now" best known being done by The Rolling Stones).

I like him in his new role as a kingmaker and cultural commentator more than I like his current work.

I think he's probably just creatively worn out. His Dark Tower work was cool (although I haven't read all of it) and his most recent short story book wasn't bad at all. I'm sure he'll release something very substantial soon.

Now that I think about it, maybe it's best that they not be made into films. 1408 was a scary story; as a film it just wasn't frightening. His stories just don't translate well onto the screen.
