Sega has launched its online gaming portal - Play SEGA.

The gaming portal contains a large number of flash games classified into seven categories - Sonic, Arcade, Puzzle, Quiz, Card, Sports, and Word games. One can register for free and start playing games.

Registration is necessary to earn the currency of the site called PlaySEGA Rings; all of you know about Linden Dollars in Second Life, right? These PlaySEGA Rings are helpful in winning weekly cash prizes. PlaySEGA Rings can be collected by playing games, of course, bagging all Awards and Achievements in the games, and by finally participating in 'Skillshot Opportunities' at the end of every game session.

Besides regular flash games, titles which were released earlier like Brain Assist, which has also appeared on DS, and the mobile version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is also available. SEGA has revealed their plans about having a VIP section where users can play established games like Megadrive for a fee.
