The Qumran are connected to the Dead Sea Scrolls, it's where they were stored and/or the dudes who wrote them. (Supposedly)
This guy might be one of those fanatic types that doesn't want you to buy into that stuff on account of it's threat to a certain fundamental branch of a certain religion. So, he's concocting bullshit to dissuade continual persute, or he's full of shit. Maybe both.
