Recommendations?

So I'm thinking of buying a game or two when my tax return comes in, and I was wondering which new games are worth buying. The local rental places have terrible selections when it comes to games, so I can't really try out too many. The new Fatal Frame is a shoe-in, of course, but what other new games (for PS2 or Gamecube, that is) would you guys recommend? I don't have the time for RPGs or strategy games anymore, so I'd like to keep it within the action/adventure or horror genres.

The new Prince of Persia is a pretty good action game. Killer 7 is a neat game for the Gamecube with some great action and an INSANE storyline (but the gameplay is either love it or hate it). I'm probably going to pick up the Megaman X collection, good group of games for a good price.

Forgot to mention that I already have RE 4. You guys are right though, it really is an excellent game. I'll definitely have to check out Killer 7. I looked up some screenshots and the game looks good, and the story seems... intriguing.

I ended up buying two games (for $25!) today. Kuon (PS2) and Eternal Darkness (GC). These both seem pretty good.

Resident Evil 4. One of the most entertaining RE games of the series, replayable, great creatures/monsters, hard missions. A must-play game!

Eternal Darkness is definatly a cool game. I never got to finish it, or get very far at all for that matter, but what I saw in the 3 days I rented it for was very cool. Original concept, good storyline...seemed like a very cool game.

Eternal Darkness is very good... I remember the game made me think there was something wrong with my GC. Good stuff.
