Daniel Day Lewis is perfectly cast in his role, and he brings so many emotions together in his character throughout the movie, which shows his amazing and phenomenal talent (seriously, if you have any doubt...watch this or My Left Foot or even Gangs of New York). I dare say only Marlon Brando in The Godfather is just an edge better than Daniel in There Will Be Blood.

**MINOR SPOILER**

Just watch the emotions fly across Daniel's face when he screams "I told you I would eat you!"

This is a SUPERB little effort by Paul T Anderson. His Boogie Nights and Magnolia were gems in their own right, and with There Will Be Blood, he has achieved a new high. This man's good...really REALLY good. If it doesnt win an Academy Award, there's something SERIOUSLY wrong with the Academy Awards panel. Too bad it didnt get a wider release.

Anyone who is a lover of serious, gritty and realistic cinema should see this. I am buying the DVD when it comes out. Recommended to Rod, Alky, Newb, Jenna, Despare, Zwoti and anyone else who fits the bill said above.

Probably be seeing this one this week sometime.

Anyone need a date?

...

Just saw Cloverfield today.

And.

Wow.

Well.

Yeah.

I'm not sure if I can give an accurate review on it as I was pretty much ENRAGED ALL DAY, but it was pretty damn good. My only issue was that I guess with the gritty nature of the handheld cam, I wanted a little more than just PG-13... I think I wanted something that could have gotten it an R-rating. Oh, and there was definitely some cheese factor to it. And the end dragged on a bit too long, but yet, the movie as a whole, very short.

BUT

I recommend. I give it... B+. I just wanted... More... Umph.

Makes me want to see 28 Weeks later and Mulberry Street over again.

...

Last night... I watched Sunshine.

Certainly not a perfect movie in any way, shape, or form, but it envoked quite a long discussion between the boyfriend and I which was interesting and inciteful... And even though Sunshine was not perfect, I have to give credit to something that will provide me a soapbox upon which to RANT afterwards.

Highlights of the film: Boyle is a goddamn good director.

Pitfalls: Completely and utterly emulates any space movie that has come out and gotten exposure, EVER: 2001, 2010, Alien, Event Horizon, and even Armageddon. I felt as though Boyle was more concerned with mimesis than creating anything new... Which was confusing since he seems to have budget and some legitimate talent.

I'd have a difficult time rating this movie as a lot of it is so incredibly atmospherically beautiful... But some of the dialogue is so incredibly abhorrent... I don't know... Worth seeing... But don't expect to like it.

Cabin Fever. I know Eli Roth has potential to be great. It just pains me to see him go from this, to Hostel...

This one's been on my list for a while along with Orphanage... I hope I get time to see them.

National Treasure was the last one for me, I've always had fun with it, kind of an updated Indiana Jones.

"Juno" 7-8/10

Sorry Dis, you're on your own.

If there's any justice in the world Ellen Page will be standing with an Oscar trophy in about a month. She was irresistibly wonderful.
