I personally thought 300 was alright, but if you had to use a comparison, clearly sin city was a shining example of how much better a film can be when the original author works directly onboard. That said, I loved the visual style of 300, but yeah - not one I'm rushing out to get on dvd anytime soon.

Plot-wise,
The 300 Spartans feels a little more complete, and a little less focused on being manly- it's just a little more serious on telling the damn story instead of showing as many shiny gluds as they can.
See it, but don't buy it.
As far as
300 is concerned, I thought anyone with a lot of money could have strung together a picture like that. Visually, it was stunning- but it failed at everything else.
