Leatherface, you gotta relax. There's lotsa people that like 80's slasher movies. Heck, I watch those things from time to time, there's nothing quite like 'em. Besides that, if you are so concerned with people "likeing you," then why did you chainsaw massacre all those people in them movies huh, can you answer that for me? And don't say "I felt like it" because that's not real answer. You are maniac monster.

There's nothing wrong about liking slasher movies. I like them too and judging from their success, so do many other people. Personally, I have been most terrified by The Amityville Horror (1979) and for this, I have been ridiculed too. I do not care what everyone else thinks of my taste in horror. If I love it, it's good enough for me. You should follow your instincts because we are not all alike. I think it's great that we don't like all the same stuff, because that would be a very boring world, indeed.

W00t right back at ya waxonwaxoff...and dont get me started on "The Hills Have Eyes" to this day i have not seen the end of that movie, i had to work out of my living room and hide under my bed because of that film, i nearly threw up the bottle of cola and bowl of popcorn i had devoured before the movie had even started...depravity that one...but hey if you like it then thats kool:D
and i agree the more blood and gore the better...but i think kids and teens, and some adults for that matter are becoming too tolerable for blood and gore, nothing shocks us anymore. i think the old school horror trick of suspence, not showing the death scene just elluding to it with shadows or audio and stuff will be back in fashion soon...its the only way to go. xxFrostyxx

But seriously speaking, if you DO find them scary, then they work for you. I prefer them to be as gruesome/distubing etc as possible to try and make it slightly difficult to watch because I'm desensitised to pretty much anything due to the fact my dad let me stay up late watching horror when I was a very young kid. For example; I was born the same year Nightmare On Elm Street was released, and I watched it on TV when I was old enough to know what TV was. Like I said, if you enjoy them or they scare you, then thats good enough. I personally liked Scream when I originally saw it, but the sequels werent so good...

They're not "horror" horror movies. They're by the books, and unoriginal, but well acted and put together with medium/high budgets.
No one has bad taste in movies till you equate story and substance with an over abundance of tits and ass, then your taste can be considered crap. I like both those series, they're not the best horror movies ever made, but they're entertaining. |
