It was a bit, but there were other qualities that made up for it. This is not heavy-duty stuff, or challenging, but a decent page turner.

I forget where I read it (maybe an issue of Motorbooty) but I thought the line of how "Cave was heavily influenced by the Thesaurus" summed up that book quite well :D

Hahaha totally. It's really irritating. I mean, I like the story and the setting, but sometimes I just have to roll my eyes at the points where he clearly found the most obscure word possible.

Unfortunately, it's heavy on psycho-babble and way too short on actual film discussion. Although I did find out about a new film, Outpost (2008) while reading it, which I liked very much, so that's a plus.
