The Mist Recommendations
Can anyone recommend me more films that are like the Mist? Meaning, the post apocalyptic/survival feel. *Films that are at least sufficient on the fear level.

28 Days/Weeks Later (though I think that Weeks is a better movie, personally). You definitely get a small portion of society trying to survive and being an allegory for the primal human condition, as you see in The Mist. And I definitely think that both movies have some pretty frightening elements to them.
There's The Stand, another King adaptation. It's actually a mini-series. I remember enjoying it when it came out (I was much, much younger then), so I'm not sure if it stands up over time, but it might be worth a try if you want to do a marathon. It's more dramatic than jump-out-at-you scary. Night of the Comet - Absolutely fantastic post-apocalytpic zombie 80s film. That doesn't take itself too seriously. I absolutely love this flick, Posh, though it has more comedic elements in it than the Mist or the other two that I mentioned, so it might not specifically be what you're looking for. Definitely lacks the huge scare element to them. Resident Evil Series - I've only seen the most recent one which, honestly, I thought was a lot better than other people claimed it to be; it wasn't anything but a post-apocalyptic zombie-fighting hotchick movie. And it did that pretty well. Then again, I have a feeling that you've already seen the above, so I might just be overtired and not helpful at all. Why not go back and do classics like The Birds, which hints at those kind of themes. Edit: I just watched Dog Soldiers for the first time last night. Talk about a goddamn good seige/survival movie. Also in that vein there is FEAST and Mulberry Street. |

You've seen all the good ones, give up and move on to another sub-genre. I suggest zombie movies that take place in "the ghetto".

I'd say the mist is more apocolyptic, as opposed to post-apocolyptic. as for post-apocolyptic, Doomsday is a blast.
