#1 was the best. The crudeness made it more scary, somehow.

#2 had too much slapstick. I hate one-liners too... but if anyone is going to deliver them, it should be Bruce Campbell.

#3 wasn't claustrophobic and suspenseful like the first two, more action/fantasy than horror.

the first, no doubt. the second came close to it, but AoD was just boring, funny in 1 or 2 places.
