Help: Classic Horror Film About Djinns

I recall seeing an old classic horror film on cable quite some time ago, could be an eighties or a mid-nineties film. But, this film is about an evil Djinn who is accidentally released when a professor at this University receives from ancient artifacts and gives one of them to his daughter. At any rate, by the end of this film his daughter and a small group of campus students are holed up in the basement of the University running from this evil Djinn.

I thought it might have been Wishmaster but I've seen most of them. Anyone have any ideas which movie this might be? |

A classic, to me, is a movie that could be considered somewhat outdated but has managed to keep some, or all, of its effectiveness/message.

No really, I'm pretty sure it's "The Outing" aka "The Lamp" with some details misremembered. At least I'm fairly sure.
