Ravenous is cool, but I liked Wendigo better. Larry Fassenden is one of the most talented, unique directors working in the genre.

I never saw Wendigo so I can't comment on that, but I do know that it would have to be pretty fucking sweet to compete with Ravenous! I wasn't exactly expecting as cool of a movie as it turned out to be when I walked into the theatre. Very pleasent surprise.

The insepid Jackalope monster in Wendigo not only ruined the movie.......but probably turned people off of even exploring the myth..........

Ravenous handled the subject in a stylish........brilliant way.......with subtlety!

It's a crime how overlooked this movie is. Such an original and stylish work, haunting story telling at it's best. Glad to see someone comment on the music, that was one of my favorite parts; it was so odd it was fascinating lol.

A lot of critics downed this film, for it's over-simplistic approach to Manifest Destiny, but I viewed it strictly in terms of entertainment. I think it was a marvelous black comedy. Guy Pearce was less wooden than usual, Robert Carlyle was a hilarious cannibal, and Jeffrey Jones did a nice back up turn(he's the surprise ending). And you're right about the music- very infectious.

I hate both these films. The Proposition is the only film with Guy Pierce in it that I dig.
