House of the Devil

Just watched this today, it was great. Made in 2009 but its filmed like a 80's slasher flick. Really good. Acting was good, film work was awesome. Its worth a watch.

I agree on Ti West, but the movie was fun. When I watch horror im normally not searching for quality, mainly because I love low budget cheap movies with poor acting. I look for if it entertained me, if it was fun, and it was very fun. Good gore level without being over the top (that said I prefer over the top). I love the grainy cheap look to the film. Eh, to each their own.

Disliked this film. One good kill was all to be had.

It maybe a case of style over substance but this is one of my favorite modern era horror films. Loved the look of the film and it's slow burn atmosphere and it was great seeing Tom Noonan back on the screen.

I'd like to see West do something on par with this again. His other films had their moments but were patchy IMO.

Thought Tom Noonan's performance was awesome, perfectly creepy. Movie had a decent atmosphere too. Wouldn't be in a hurry to watch it again but its a pretty decent movie.

Yeah, I always dug this one too. It's certainly not reinventing the wheel or anything, but I enjoyed the slow-burn smokiness of it. Fun little love letter to the auteur horror of the 70s with the look of low budget American 80s horror.

Ti's next project is a western, and seeing as the average plot of a western is slower than a quadriplegic's semen flow, his final product ought to contain exactly one-third of an unresolved conflict.
