New Book Out: "HELLZAPALOOZA - The Best Damned Rock Show Ever!"

Yeah, I'm one of the seven writers involved in the crazy thing. It's the story of a huge rock festival that goes horrifically, supernaturally, and kind of funnily (word??) wrong in southern Missouri.

It's got sex, drugs, rock and roll, a Westboro Baptist type church, witchcraft, Evil (with a capital "E"), beautiful scenery, horrible occurrences, plus zombies and golems and eviscerations, oh my!

"HELLZAPALOOZA" is a full-length novel that encompasses a 7-author anthology. The short stories in the anthology all occur during the book's 24-hour rock festival.

Intriguing conceit---a sort of anthology within a novel. Throw in the t-shirt and you have a deal.

HELLZAPALOOZA chronicles the rock-and-roll exploits of Rayjay Jahraznik, a crazed St. Louis concert promoter who’s building an outdoor concert venue on land he inherited in tiny Isabella, Missouri. Rayjay’s certain his first event there, a 24-hour rock and roll festival called “Hillzapalooza”, will be a raging success.

Oh, he’s right about the rage. From age-old abominations to hippie-fueled horror to the Trickster himself, the local landscape is a mystical minefield. One wrong step and the natural charm explodes with unnatural harm.

Can Edna Mosely, Ozark crone and leader of a rag-tag group of pseudo-mystics, stop the evil before it starts a holocaust? Will the determined Lion of Judah church pull off a Revelations revolution? Or does Hillzapalooza succeed in unleashing hell on earth? The stage is set and the audience is screaming – in terror - in HELLZAPALOOZA. THE BEST DAMNED ROCK SHOW EVER!

The book is unique in that it’s a full-length novel which weaves around and through a seven story anthology.

The novel is written by Mark L. Groves, with anthology stories written by Laura Hardenbrook, Joe Baric, John Erik Petersen, Maddie McFadden, Andrew Rambo, Lisa Shepard, and Mark L. Groves.
