Thinking about the next Top 100...

Just went through some of the original threads posted by Flayed and me, and some of the very interesting "would-be" compilations which still remain to see the light of the day.

And since we have an Official HDC Top 100, I think it should be imperative that we have a Official HDC Top 100 Of The Worst In Horror. After all, fans do deserve to know which ones to avoid, dont they? Doubt anyone would find anything to salvage from The Village or Pinata Survival Island or The Item...

(And for those of you who are thinking of Plan 9 From Outer Space, beware of Neverending's wrath!)

Question is, between all of us, can we unanimously agree on 100 of the absolute stinkers of our genre to steer clear of? Sort of like a huge road-block sign to stay away from these "detours" of Horror, so to speak.

Or we can go ahead and do another "Top 100" - Icons, Kills, Performances - you name it. Or (if you feel like this could be overkill), just can this whole idea altogether.

I am open to suggestions.

I will think on this and be back to you later. But, first I just to want to say that The Item is awesomely original. Since we judge a lot of other cult films on their uniqueness, I think it unfair the Item was not judged by the same standards. I think a 100 worst or a 100 Craptacular would be a good idea. I'm thinking more than we should err on the side of Craptacular.

perhaps this is relaxing and therapeutic for him.

It would be tough to do "Worst in Horror".....there's SO much crap out there. I wouldn't even consider DTV shit.....just serious contenders.

It's not a concept I'd be interested in participating in. Even more than with "the best" taste is so subjective as to what is "the worst."

To paraphrase what Urge has said- he will recommend films to people, but he would never tell somebody NOT to watch a movie. It's the same kind of thing.

I would put several John Carpenter films on the list. Would anyone else here agree with me? Doubtful.

Count me out. Again.

Interesting concept, like Neverending, I think it would be tougher than other lists but I'm game.

I like this idea,we do have a list for almost everything else,it's time to put together another list, and a list of movies to avoid does sound like a good one to attempt to put together.

I'd say a bunch of stuff I really like would end in this Top 100 :)

What Carpenter flicks would you put on there? I'm sure you'd have total agreement on his later stuff. But I guess you don't rate some of the "classics" like The Thing.
