i kind of liked The Raw Shark Texts - its weird but cool
if you like horror/scary/adventure - i really like Brian Keene's books as for non-fiction - i'd go with World War Z by Max Brooks - a good oral history of the long ago zombie wars (i've still got some rotted flesh from that one!)
