Anyone like real gothic novels?
I'm talking MG Lewis and Maturin, and modern guys like Patrick McGrath--not wannabes like Tom Picirilli (Choir of Ill Children was a true waste of time; he needed to find a plot)

Yeah, I consider Rice and Brite gothic. Brite sent me a few letters and some cool pics. She's groovy. Exquisite Corpse and Lost Souls are very cool. Haven't read the latest Rice novel.

You better be ready, You're going to die and I dont feel anything about it." I was mainly talking about the original gothic novels that pretty much invented horror fiction. M.G. Lewis' "The Monk" was written around 1790 or so and is one of the best horror novels I've ever read. It's very cool. Robert Maturin's "Melmoth the Wanderer" is good, as is Nathanial Hawthorne's "The House of the Seven Gables."
