[*]what's the best job you've ever had and why? Well, I've only had a few, being a young'un. However, before coming to college, I was a delivery boy for a hot dog joint called Kojak's, and that was really nice. I got free, greasy-ass food whenever I please, and my pay was all under the table, no taxes. I would work five hours a night and go home with around $120, cash. Plus, I got to drive around all the time and listen to music. Loud. It was a blast. [*]what was the first horror film you remember seeing and what were your first impressions? I have very vivid memories of watching The Bride of Frankenstein with my mom one afternoon when I was probably 7 or so. I just remember being so wholly absorbed by what was happening on screen, and was given a handful of emotions to cope with- fear, sorrow, joy, pity. It really had a profound impact on me. My mom doesn't remember watching the film st all. Too bad... [*]who do you admire most (living or dead) in the world and why? This will sound cliche, but I find my own dad to be the most patient, dedicated, happy-go-lucky person I've ever met, and I find myself daily shaping my attitude to try to match his lifestyle. Though his interests are completely opposite mine, he has always been respectful and supportive of everything anyone in my family has felt or wanted, no matter how rediculous. I also look up to Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone, and Billy Wilder. :) [*]what is your morning routine? I get up at 8:15 (quietly so as not to wake my roomate). I shower (steaming hot and usually longer than I intend) and throw on a Beatles T and some jeans. I head over to our cafeteria at about 9:00, and then to my European Cinema class at 9:30. Not today, though, 'cause classes got cancelled due to snow! [*]who is your favorite villain of all time? Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'd say Max Cady (the original, played by Robert Mitchum) in Cape Fear. Though it isn't even remotely near the front og my favorite movies list, the story of Cady is just so brutal and terrifying, and so goddamn believable. To me, Robert Mitchum is the greatest villian actor of all time because every performance was so naturally chilling, and so intricately human. His role in Night of the Hunter is close behind. [*]do you play any musical instrument(s)? if so, do you write your own material? Ehhh...I played the trumpet in Jr. High, but it never clicked. I took up the guitar in High School, and still play it from time to time, but never got to the point where I was writing my own stuff. I would mostly learn songs from The Beatles, Stones, Steppenwolf, etc. and work on those until I was a pretty good copycat, nothing more. Thanks for the questions, Fortunato! For Avi: *What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it? If not, what would you be doing in a perfect world? *What is your ultimate guilty pleasure movie? Why? *If they're aware it exists, what do family members think of HDC? *What movie are you looking forward to the most in 2008? Why? *What is the best thing you've ever done for someone? Why? *What will you do in the next year that you've never done before?

I'll play if someone wants to ask. It seems like it won't go very far if only one person can be asked at a time though

*What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it? If not, what would you be doing in a perfect world?
- I am a Financial and Insurance consultant with my own office, with a staff of 5. I help people with their investments in insurance schemes, stocks and shares and generally deal with insurance companies, financial institutions, banks, stock markets, The Wall Street journos etc. It’s a very demanding job but pays like a king. I am not complaining as long as I get enough time to pursue the smaller pleasures of life like spending quality time with my family, watching movies and partying in the weekends with friends. If I was in a perfect world, I would be surrounded with the people I love and cherish the most and become a movie director. I have great admiration for Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Bergman, Cronenberg, Lynch, Scott, Stone…and have been awe-struck about their vision while taking charge of things behind a camera. I would watch Sanjuro or Rashomon or Vertigo or Platoon, and wondered about the time spent in shooting them, and how meticulous each visionary is about their visions, discussions with script-writers and actors, weighing each frame in the mind, proceeding forward with the most impactful choice…oh yes, it would have been great to be a movie director. *What is your ultimate guilty pleasure movie? Why? - MacKenna's Gold. I know it doesnt rate very high on anybody's lists, but I love it. I might have seen it around 70-75 times and everytime it has entertained me to the full. With a solid star-cast of my favorite actors - Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif, Telly Savalas...and some awesome cinematography and camera sequences (especially the ones mounted on the horses)...I just love it! *If they're aware it exists, what do family members think of HDC? - My mother and wife both know about HDC. Dani knows a bit about Rayne, Alky, Newb, Urge too (from what I told her...and no worries it was all positive!:D ). She isnt an ardent fan of horror, but she watches em with me. Can you believe she took Evil Dead and The Exorcist bravely in her strides but was absolutely terrified of The Grudge? I asked her to watch the Jap original, Ju-On, and she would have none of it. She caught a glimpse of Saw too and declared she would never, ever see it. She's more into action/adventure type stuff. (Psst...last night she watched the jap The Eye with me and was scared stiff most of the time!) *What movie are you looking forward to the most in 2008? Why? - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Harrison Ford may have aged but he still packs a punch. And Indy's whip will flash across the screens once again! Also looking forward to Nolan's The Dark Knight, On the horror front, the sequels to Feast and Midnight Meat Train, which looks very promising. *What is the best thing you've ever done for someone? Why? - A close friend of mine went bankrupt last year. He was an investor in shares and took some really wrong decisions against the tide, and lost everything. He had a big family to support and became very depressed. I took his family in and kept em, found em a new house and gifted it to him, and gave him enough credit to get his ball rolling again. Today he's back in the flow, and is financially secure again, following my advice and tips about savings and investments. Thinking back...I am totally satisfied for what I did for them.:) *What will you do in the next year that you've never done before? - Wellllllll...I honestly have no idea. Life is so busy for me that I never make a schedule for the whole year. I take each day as it comes in the Urban Jungle, but if I get the chance I might visit Switzerland and Venice during the summer holidays. I have heard so much about the beauty of Switzerland (and Swiss chocolates!), and Venice with its canals and thought-provoking beauty...those would be on top of my priority list of vacations. For Newb - 1 - What do you do for a living and how is your daily routine? Are you satisfied by what you are today? 2 - If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be and why? 3 - Whats your take on the genre as it stands today? Is there scope for improvement, or have we lost it? 4 - Who is the best online friend you have ever met? And why? 5 - Do you get nostalgic? Are you a brooding and deep-thinking person? 6 - What does your wife have to say about HDC? Does she approve it, and us?;)

1 - What do you do for a living and how is your daily routine? Are you satisfied by what you are today?
I'm a shipping mgr. for a manufacturing co. here in little Rhode Island [yawn]....yeah not the most exciting job, but it pays the bills. I'm pretty satisfied....I guess...I mean I would much rather had that "beer tasting" job at the local brewery..but they said I was "over" qualified. 2 - If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be and why? I think if we could eliminate GREED.....everything else would just fall into place. 3 - Whats your take on the genre as it stands today? Is there scope for improvement, or have we lost it? Every genre has its low spots. Horror just happens to be in this "remake" hell at the moment. But there are some innovative up & comers coming into play. I think its going to get pretty exciting in the near future....especially with people like......[shit whats his name...Sam...no...Sean Killer..wait..Keller...thats it] writing scripts. 4 - Who is the best online friend you have ever met? And why? I have quite a few, what I would consider friends, online...yourself included.Guys [ and girls] I wouldn't mind sitting around with, discussing horror movies and knocking back a few brews [hmmm....I do that now].Urgeok and myself hit it off pretty good....even sending each other movies and what-not. I don't talk to him as often, since he "jumped ship". [ the other forum is nice...just not very active] 5 - Do you get nostalgic? Are you a brooding and deep-thinking person? It seems the older I get [ yeah..I know...I'm fucking old] the more nostalgic i'm getting. I find myself watching more older movies or I'll put on an episode of an old TV show [ i.e.. Get Smart, Wild Wild West,]. Brooding and deep thinking.......not at all. 6 - What does your wife have to say about HDC? Does she approve it, and us? She knows about HDC......but not being into horror movies, could care less. Now if I was on a "Reality TV Forum" she would join in a heartbeat. __________________ for Chronogrl....one of our newer and more exciting members nothing to heavy...its friday 1.
