I take it Friday 3, 4, and 5 are all prequels to Friday the 13th? :p

3 is the weakest of the first 4. 5 is where it really started to get ridiculous.
My order is 4,2,1,3,5.

Part 2 is the best closely followed by The Final Chapter.

I liked the original the best.

I like Jason as the killer, but still rank part 1 just behind 4 & 2. Also, the ending of part 4 is classic and the reason I like part 2 slightly more than part 1 is Jason wearing a sack over his head instead of the hockey mask...I just like it.

4 has some great Tom Savini gore when seen uncut - particularly Jason's head-slicing demise on that machete.

I don't think I've seen it uncut. Is the DVD version uncut? I'll have to check it out if it is. Tom Savini fucking rules!

The Final Chapter was cut in the UK and the R-rated US releases (so probably bound to be same if NZ is anything like uptight Australia in its censoring), but since then has been re-released with the cuts reinstated.
Of course, rumours still abound that most of the Friday films run longer if Paramount ever allow us to see them unrated. |
