Question Spooky stories...

Come on everybody...share your ghost, spooky or unexplained story just in time for Halloween.

Here's mine...although it's not gonna terrify you out of sleep it is kind of disturbing. It is not "he said, she said"...this story is right from the woman it happened to, not her cousin's boyfriend or my aunt's boss's wife...it happened to my best friend's mom who I consider my 2nd mother. It happened about 30 years ago.

My best friend's mother, who is 100% normal and sane and a church going woman, was at home with her two oldest children...my best friend wasn't born yet. The kids were around 3 and 2 at the time. They lived on a farm on the prairies and her husband worked early mornings/late nights and she was home alone. It was a stormy day, really overcast and raining and the power went out so she and the kids were sitting at the windows watching the lightning and rain...oh, how thrilling!
Then Linda saw some flashing lights in the sky...and thought it was just weird lightening...and then it got closer. It was grey and had lights all around it...I can't recall what size she said it was or how far she was from it! A UFO LANDED IN THE PASTURE!! I am serious. She was terrified and took the kids and hid in her bedroom, in a corner, crying and shaking and wondering what was going on! She thought the world was coming to an end. After awhile she decided to see if this "thing" was gone. It was just leaving, in fact, and it floated up and then zoomed away. The grass was singed where it had landed...her husband found this when she told him the story--she was too terrified to leave the house.
About 15 years ago, when I went to visit them, my friend and I were walking in the pasture trying to catch their horse. She pointed over to a cluster of trees and said "that's where the UFO landed" then kept talking about whatever we were talking about...like it was no big deal! Once we caught the horse I insisted we go see the UFO area and, being typical girls, we were too scared to go too close. Finally we got up the courage to go right in. My friend told me that the cows wouldn't graze in the circle of trees and the whole time we had the horse on lead and she was hopping around and her eyes looked wild and she was clearly uncomfortable being there.
I can't NOT believe this woman's story. She is normal and wouldn't make up something like this. She still can't really believe it herself but she knows what she saw was real. She would never purposely try to scare her children...they had to go into this pasture every day to get the cows for milking. She saw something and unfortunately we'll never know what it was.

Can't wait to hear your stories!

I had a similar incident happen to me & brother one night.. when I was a bit younger we lived what some people call "the backwoods" .. well one night will sitting on our front porch while it was raining and lightening a tad we saw really strange lights coming toward the field across the road from our house.. to make a long story short it was a helicopter crew landing for a brief time until the storm passed...

HA HA...hilarious. But this WAS NOT a helicopter. We may have lived in the boonies on the prairies but this woman knew what a helicopter looked like...and this thing was most certainly not one.
:D

One time a old broken coca-cola music box had been sitting on top of our fridge for 3 years. As we were eating breakfast one day it just started playing. And when we let our dog outside we always locked the door. Well, we were eating dinner in the living room and nobody had left. Suddenly, our dog just waltzed in there and we checked the door to outside and it was still locked. Ha ha, we called our poltergeist Freddy.
