Neat shit to notice

Ever notice something in a game, movie or TV show that was fiendishly clever, but you feel like you are the only one who noticed it?

I have tons.

In the new Dawn of the Dead, When we meet Glen, we are told he "isnt a preist, he just plays the organ." Later, we find out Glen is gay. Tell me that wasnt an on-purpose in-joke.:)

In 28 Days Later, the environmentalists break into the lab to free the Chimps from their "torture". One of them kills the first escaped chimp with bolt cutters while trying to save the woman being attacked by it. Irony at it's best :D

In an episode of the Simpsons called "Brother from another planet" (my personal favorite episode EVER), Bart tries to psychicly tell Homer "Pick up Bart", homer having forgotten to pick himup after a soccer game. Milhouse begins saying "Trab pu kcip. Trab pu Kcip!" and wites it on the wall in lipstick. We see in the mirror it is "Pick Up Bart" backwards, and obvious reference to "redrum" in the Shining.

In a level called "Going Postal" in the Duke Nukem PLutonium pack, there is a locker room. on the wall, directly across froma mirror, is the phrase "Trab pu kcip." I think there is nothing more brilliant than a hidden reference to a hidden reference :D

There is also a later level set in a fast food restauraunt. If you go to the drive through radio and hit the use button, you hear Butthead say "Ummm.. We're like, closed, or something"

Anyone else know any good ones? i will have PLENTY more to come.

yeah I though it was ironic , when I saw that scene in 28days, and since we had a few articles in the Tv news about animal rights activists around that time, I reckoned it was a dig at these people.

I've seen others, but cant think of em atm

:)

For Geeks Onwy

At the end of "The Matrix," the humans use the EMP to knock out the squiddies that are attacking the ship. There is a wide shot showing the EMP waves emanating from the ship and towards the virtual "camera" (this is a CG shot, so the camera is virtual). As the EMP waves hit the squiddies, they get knocked out--and when the waves finally reach the "camera," the screen goes black. I interpret this to mean that the virtual camera "filming" this scene is a video camera (and not a film camera, which could conceivably be wholly mechanical, i.e., non-electrical). This seems to be a hip "techno-joke" making a nod at the future of cinema being digital video.

It's very funny--and very GEEKY!

Urge...

That's NOT the boom mike you've been seeing.

It's the NOSE of the Dark Muppet as he leans down to survey his potential victims.

I tell you it's true!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Run, scream, freak out!

Nobody else seemed to know why I thought Kel's character in Mystery Men suggesting the name Super Dudes was so funny, so I guess that counts

the best small bit for me was when the ben stiller character .. in a fit of rage ... still wasnt able to pull the hood ornament off the front of frankenstein cassanovas car.

How on earth did you manage to pick that up? I never notice stuff like that.

I was too busy hating that movie to look though. :p
